As part of the Month of Science 2025, the UP and the UP FM hosted the 18th International Technology Transfer Conference (ITTC 2025) on Wednesday, 8 October 2025, organized by the Jožef Stefan Institute.
In her opening address, the Rector of the University of Primorska, Prof. Dr. Klavdija Kutnar, emphasized the crucial role of collaboration between universities and research institutions in promoting scientific progress.
This year’s conference brought together more than 80 representatives from universities, research institutes, companies, and public institutions, focusing on strengthening support systems for the establishment of spin-out companies.
Participants discussed the integration of science, research, and innovation within the framework of the new European funding programs, and how to more effectively transfer research results and ideas into practical applications. Key topics included the development of supportive environments for spin-out companies, the enhancement of collaboration between research, innovation, and policy for a competitive and technologically advanced Europe, as well as promoting the commercialization of research and sustainable innovation through coordinated strategies at both EU and national levels.
The event provided an excellent opportunity for knowledge exchange, networking, and fostering cooperation between the scientific and business communities, while also opening up numerous new opportunities for joint projects in the future.
